CANADA at a CROSSROADS – A Baby Boomers Reflection on Identity, Uncertainty, and the Future.

Canada is changing. The question is—are we paying attention?

Born in 1958, Doug Rogers has spent a lifetime watching Canada grow, evolve, and quietly redefine itself. What once felt stable and predictable has shifted into something far more uncertain.

From the calm confidence of post-war Canada to the economic shocks, cultural shifts, and global tensions of today, Canada at a Crossroads connects the dots through one man’s lived experience. This is not a history lesson. It is a reflection from someone who has seen the country change from the inside.

As global pressures rise and the relationship with the United States grows more complex, Canadians are beginning to ask harder questions about identity, sovereignty, and the future. Questions that can no longer be ignored.

Doug Rogers brings a grounded, thoughtful voice to those questions. Drawing from decades of real-world experience and conversations with people from around the globe, he offers a perspective that is both personal and unmistakably Canadian.

My Goodreads Profile: A LIFE OUT LOUD: Tracks Worn by Time and Tales – A Memoir of Short Stories by Doug Rogers

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hi there – well, I am the author so admittedly I am biased. I write this short review more as an introduction as this is my debut book, a memoir of my life’s work, loves and losses. It is a reflection on a life of resilience and written with you the reader in mind. It doesn’t matter that you don’t know who I am – you will; it matters more that my story mirrors your own life in some way to connect our tracks on the railway of humanity. There’s something for everyone within these pages and I’m sure you’ll laugh; you’ll shed a tear and find a common denominator that you’ll appreciate.

I invite you to come aboard my wonderful train to adventure… (yes, I have a railway background).
